I got Scarlet Queen off the Burpee rack today. It looks like Uproar does anyone know if it's the same flower?
Follow-Up Postings:

Hi Rose, Scarlet Queen is not the same as Uproar (which is a medium purple). Uproar is a fairly expensive F1 hybrid, while Scarlet Queen is an heirloom field grown open pollinated variety, and its seed cost considerably less than Uproar. ZM

I googled them Scarlett Queen looks just like my Giant Red Zinnia's. I'm going to give this pack away in a trade. Zenman would you like them?

Hi Rose, Thanks for the offer, but I don't need any Scarlett Queen right now. The only heirloom zinnia that I could use would be called "Crown of Gold", and it seems to have disappeared from the scene a few decades ago. Crown of Gold zinnias came in a complete color range, but the base of each petal was a golden yellow. I think that could work well in crosses with other zinnias. If that trait should appear in any of my recombined zinnias, I will "jump right on it" and use its pollen and save its seeds like I did with my tubular petaled "mutant". ZM

Do you mean "Uproar Rose"? If so, that is definitely a hot pink color with a purple/blue undertone, not red/scarlet at all, not even close. I've posted pics of Uproar Rose on the board before, you can do a quick board search to find old threads (look in the Thrilled with Zinnias thread) :0)
