Has anyone heard of this seed company?

www.sunflowerselections.com

Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
I have been looking at this website and thinking about placing an order with them. It seems very professional but I haven't been able to find any reviews on them. Have any of you gardenwebbers (term?) heard of them?

Nel

Nel,

The parent company of SunflowerSelections.com is NuFlowers, LLC. Neither company is currently listed in The Garden Watchdog, which lists 7,376 mail order gardening companies at this time. However, I personally wouldn't let that keep me from ordering sunflower seeds from SunflowerSelections.com, which is apparently a rather new company that specializes in just sunflower seeds that were bred by one long-time sunflower breeder and geneticist, Dr. Tom Heaton.

I actually plan to order their "garden giant" sunflowers, Kong and American Giant Hybrid, from SunflowerSelections myself. So, thanks for bringing them to my attention. I probably will add my report on the company to The Garden Watchdog after I grow my giant sunflowers this Summer.

Don't order a really BIG order off them the first time. Just for testing purposes. That way if things go sideways then you're not out a lot of money. A lot of companies that have professional looking websites are still nightmares to deal with.
Now that I've said my piece, I hope they are spectacular!!

Trishcuit,

"Don't order a really BIG order off them the first time. Just for testing purposes."

Good advice. Actually, their website has some problems, which I emailed them about. But the parent website seems to be OK. I'll just be sending in a minimum order. They require a minimum of $15 on an order.

Thanks guys. I've had my eye on Starburst Panache and Hobbit. Wish me luck! Here goes $15!

In the end I still haven't ordered. Still on my to do list but it has dropped down on my priorities list for now.

I've finally put in an order. Here's what happened.

March 11th placed order, confirmation email received.
March 13th payment cleared email received with a shipping soon status. (it seems that tracking was included but they forgot to include the number in my order. Next time I'll add a reminder in the special note section.)
March 18th I received it.

Here are some photos of what I received.

Also the seed packets seem to have a recloseable seal like a ziploc bag. At least in the 500 count packs.

I plan to buy again from them. A little pricey but I discovered some new varieties that I didn't know I wanted in bulk. Happy, overall.
