What is a 'Novelty Zinnia'?

What are "novelty zinnias"? Is zinnia elegans the name for most zinnias, or is this for novelty zinnias? What are some zinnia names I should look for when looking for novelty and cactus zinnias?

GP,

In my view, novelty zinnias include the bicolors and tricolors (Whirligig, Carrousel, Zowie, Swizzle, and Zig Zag, as well as Persian Carpet and Jazzy) and the striped zinnias (Peppermint and Candy Cane).
