| Are you talking about starting them inside or directly into the garden? Indoor germination can be done several weeks in advance of your last expected frost date. Six weeks, if you have a good set-up, is usually long enough to grow sturdy, garden-ready plants. I' dont know your average last frost date, but I would expect to be starting seeds in January inside. If planting outside, most seeds need to be planted after that last frost date. Some annuals prefer even warmer soils than that. Call your extension office for information regarding your local frost dates. |
