| Can sunflowers grow ok in clay soil?

| We have heavy clay soil and are amending it each year. I grew them for the first time last year. They did great. The spot we planted them was along a fenceline so the soil was still heavy clay. Growing them seemed to be no problem. Once the bluejays found them tho the seedheads were gone by the end of Oct. Marg |
