I bought 18 4" pots of petunias, in a red variety, for $.80 each: It was totally an impulse purchase. These are not wave petunias.

I have a full sun bed with sandy soil. It dries out in a hurry. Lots of things thrive there, but it isn't classic garden soil.

Will traditional petunias from Home Depot survive there with occasional watering? I know I can't keep them from drying out but they will get water weekly at least.

Alternatively, I have a part shade bed that stays more moist.
