| Thank you thank you THANK YOU for posting the tip of the insecticidal soap for the fungus gnats - it worked! I picked up a bottle at the local nursery and wetted my potting mix with a diluted solution prior to transplanting like you posted, and viola! I also used the diluted solution on the peat pellets once or twice before transplanting (because I was busy and didn't get around to transplanting as quickly as I should have). After a week or two the infestation was greatly diminished, and now I don't see any at all. :0D |

| forgive me for knocking this down after 10 days... they appear awol ... FGnats are not an outdoor issue... i dont know if i would have bothered dealing with them.. once i freed the plant from indoors ... sterilize your media before seed sowing next winter... avoiding the problem... then you dont need the cure ... ken |

| I purchased media which is supposed to be sterilized already (Jiffy Pellets and peat/vermiculite mix). Plus, I'd rather use the insecticidal soap than heat treat potting mix, that is just way too much bother. |
