Tri color violas looking long and leggy

My violas are planted in a container. They are getting long and leggy looking and keep flopping over. Can I cut these back? If so, how do I do it? Thanks for your help.

You can try giving them a big haircut, but these plants don't appreciate the heat. I don't know where you live, but in some zone 8b locations, violas and their kin would be about ready to be yanked out and replaced with something that thrives in the summer.

Agreed, unless they are in shade at least during the middle part of the day. Can you move the pot? Pansies are a little more tolerant of the heat but still need mid-day shade when it's hot. Curious if you happened to buy them at L's?
