Yesterday, it went down to 34F. :) Tonight, it will go down to 42F. I still direct sowed my germinated hyacinth, morning glories and moonflowers. No cotyledons yet. I will cover the top of the container with thick cloth. 42F will be from 1am until 5am. Succeeding days will be warmer. They'll be fine right? Thanks, Neil

It's good they don't have their cotyledons yet! They are less likely to suffer any damage as seeds. I don't think you even have to bother with the cloth. The morning glories around here drop their seeds naturally each year and the seeds get covered with snow and they sprout when the soil warms up enough, which won't be until next month. Funny thing is, it doesn't matter when they sprout in the summer. I read a research paper about light levels requirements for bloom, and MG is one of those that needs to have their daylight shortened before the blooming is triggered. Go figure...

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. I'll won't touch them then. However, I need to go to the patio now because I forgot to bring in the 3 young purple fountain grass that are still in small pots. :)

started_with_bean, I was starting to worry. However you are right, they didn't get affected. They all sprouted and are about 1" tall. :)
