| I dont know too much about sunflowers, but I do know that there are some with darker colors. I think thats what you have in that pic! Looking forward to seeing what you have! |

| albert no there was no frost. I know cold can cause some purple in plants but its been 80 or above for most of the past month and its still purple. It flowered I think it is a hybrid between velvet queen a variety that is short branching and has brown flowers and Russian mammoth a tall variety that I grew last year and from which I collected seeds from. the result was a tall, branching, 2 color sunflower. |
