| Hi everyone,
I want to start by saying that I am not a gardener lol. I know nothing about plants except that they need water and sun to grow. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea as to why 1 of 8 wave petunias stopped blooming. Actually, I have a theory about what happened, but I can't quite explain it....which brings me here. The petunias are in a round, approximately 3ft in circumference, planter that's about 2ft high. There's a garden statue in the middle. On June 17 we had a severe thunderstorm go through with high winds and heavy rain. Enough wind to take down a few trees and power poles. The wind also tipped over the garden statue...right on to the petunia that has now stopped blooming. The storm went through around 9pm, so the statue was on the plant from then until noon the next day. The rest of the petunias look great and the one that's not blooming looked great days prior to the storm. There's also a little bit of yellow on a small section of the leaves, otherwise the rest of it is still green. Could the statue have created stress to the plant causing it not to bloom? Is there anything I could do to get it to bloom again? or should I just wait and see what happens? It just looks silly to have this pretty ring of colorful wave petunias with a big patch of all green. |

| I'd check for broken stems and even a broken crown. Those plants are quite fragile when it comes to physical abuse like that. |
