This blue flower, black stem annual started popping up in my yard last year. It has a bishop-hat shaped seed pod, grows 2-3 feet high, sets it's seeds and dies. My local nursery cannot ID it. It reseeds very readily but not like a weed. Any ideas?

Looks like Nicandra(shoofly plant/balsam of peru). Google those names and see if I'm correct.

I second that! Usually I have some, but haven't had time to plant them this year.
