Hello. I am have a problem with five plants out of a flat of wax begonias "Prelude Rose" that I purchased. As you will note from the centre plant in the picture, these plants have turned a lighter green. Two of these plants are in the ground, while three are in a container. They are all watered with water soluble Miracle-Gro. I didn't think that it was a watering problem, but I nonetheless took a plant out of the container, to inspect the moisture level of the soil at the bottom and look for "obvious" signs of root rot, but didn't find anything suspicious. I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions.

i see reflected light on the leaf in the pic... but otherwise dont understand the concern.. they need full shade... otherwise they sunburn rather easily .... especially if you didnt harden them off properly from full shade.. to some sun ... in other words.. just a form of transplant shock ... just guessing.. would need a better pic to go much further... ken

Thanks for the reply Ken. The colours and lightning are true to life. One of the leaves is rolled over, which makes it seem as though I have washed the colour out with flash, but is not the case. The problem is that the centre plant has turned pale green, compared to the dark, rich green colour of its neighbours. Lastly, they are in the shade for most of the day.

I've determined that I was underwatering. This is what led to the light jade colour. Hopefully they will bounce back.
