help! ants!

Hi
I just went out to cut back my window box, which has a few cosmos. The cosmos are covered in ants! They are your run of the mill black ants, like you might get in the house after a lot of rain.

I'm in Nh where it has rained just about every day this week. My window boxes look terrible, and now this..

Anything I can do about the ants/
thanks!

You can put ant traps in the window boxes...but I suspectt he ants are eating rotting wood in your window boxes. Mormally I would say sprinkle about borax mixed with sugar and flour, but borax may kill your plants and will not be good for the soil in the boxes.

If you search 'ants' on gardenweb you will find lots of easy ways to solve the ant problem. Al
