hi daniel.. welcome to GW ...

novice gardener???

first.. why is it in that small pot ...

and why indoors ....

that is two strikes against you real fast...

these things thrive in full blistering sun .... and mine.. the seeds of which which dropped from the plants last fall.. started blooming yesterday .. i just happened to notice ...

and they are about 10 times larger than yours .... and the 3 inches of rain in the last few weeks sure didnt hurt ....

yours looks slightly anemic... yellowish.. but that might be a camera trick ....

if i were you.. i would move it outdoors.. the north side of the house... insure it NEVER dries out.. and watch it take off with more vigor.. as long as you dont forget to water it in that smallish pot ...

dont know where you are ....[ could you go to your members page.. and change that NONE next to your name.. to the largest big city .. so we have a clue where you are]... anyway .... annuals are sold in spring.. you will be hard pressed to find good stock this time of year ... and its way to late.. to be sowing seeds... plants need to be well established by july/august ... to make it thru the heat of that time of year ...

selfsown seedings annuals that i have in my MI backyard include:

CA poppies
rose campion
johnny jump ups
larkspur
morning glory
celosia
columbine

and i will see if i can come up with some other names ...

now.. i gave you common names.. your assignment.. is to google the latin names.. and learn all about them .... you might even get some peeps to send you seeds for the cost of a stamp or two ....

in the mean time.. you should build a nice garden bed.. for next spring .... so you can do all this out in mother earth.. where it should be done.. its so much easier.. it took me 20 years of practice in the garden.. before i perfected growing things in pots... so you are starting the hard way ...

good luck

ken

ps: there is a winter sowing forum... for the real hard core.. its a way to get into perennials on the cheap ....

i leave it inside cause for some reason when its in the sun the flower turns yellow
and its in the pot so i can sell it later.

A few thoughts, not to be critical, but to inform. The more people out there with great plants for sale, the better IMO. Not sure you're off to a fruitful start though. There is a market gardening forum on here also, though I don't know what it is they usually discuss in there. Might be worth a click.

Very few people would want to buy that morning glory. It's the kind folks spend a lot of time on, pulling sprouts out of flower beds.

Plants offered for sale should be in excellent condition. Growing a full-sun outdoor plant inside - that condition can't be met unless you have some serious lights inside, the kind that make the electric company notify the police. Although there is certainly nothing wrong with trying to grow the kind of plants you're talking about inside, I think you know what concern it raises, so could just be a hassle, as well as exorbitantly expensive.

You're in the US, so the season for annuals is coming to an end. The time to start them for sale would be early spring, Jan-March usually.

How/where do intend to sell plants? Your question is too vague to answer. More info about your intended audience and growing conditions you have to offer would be needed to guide you in the right directions. But generally, I would avoid any of the same-old, boring stuff every other store has. Blah, and you'll never undercut them on price, and would have to sell a ton of such inexpensive plants to be profitable, worthwhile. Literally hundreds at least. Maybe you have that kind of space, IDK, all we can see is one morning glory in a pot inside...

I'm trying to finish before my curiosity about the pink and blue paper causes me to ask about it, but don't think I'll succeed!

I just got my first flowers this week!! Very late indeed. Started from seed, they were waylayed by a woodchuck who ate the leaves in July.
