Question from an old guy for older folks

When I was a kid I would enter flowers in the Alameda County Fair, held in Pleasanton, CA, and actually came home with a ribbon or two. Now close to 70, I seem to recall a kind of light yellow marigold that looked very much like a spider chrysanthemum that I took one or more years to the fair. But all kinds of searching has turned up nothing. Perhaps my memory isn't the best, but I'm fairly certain these flowers weren't mums, but rather marigolds (that no longer seem to exist).

Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Many thanks,
Gary
