Question re. Cosmos Picotee

| Do the Cosmos Picotee flowers come true to seed? I bought a packet of Cosmos Picotee; some are the edged Cosmos while others on same plant are the same size but a full red/burgundy color. I'm a seed saver and trade on GW.
If I just pick the edged Cosmos, will I get ONLY that color or will I ALSO get the red ones one the same plant, as I presently have? And vice versa--if I just pick the red ones, will I get just the red ones or ALSO the edged ones on the same plant? I believe that as the two colors are on the same plant, I will get both colors but need a confirmation one way or the other. Thanks for any help on this confusing message.

| The only way to know the answer to your question is to find out if the picoteed cosmos are hybrids. If they are, the seeds will produce plants that revert to the parent plants and they will not be picoteed. You could ask your seed supplier about that. |

| I've grown them 2 years from seeds I got in a trade. Each year they have come true. Not sure about the seeds from a specific flower on the plant though. Deb |
