 o
premature growth of clematis buds

Hello. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my clematis plants? I have two plants in a big flower pot with mulch (wood chips) to keep the roots protected and moist. I have removed some browning/curling leaves. I have noticed that the buds have opened up prematurely, before achieving the full growth they usually do before blooming.

The clematis plants haven't bloomed in almost 3 weeks. They look healthy overall but obviously they are not in the best of shape.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Tina:)

RE: premature growth of clematis buds

How long have they been in those pots?
