my tomato plant broke in half...please help me!

| The wind blew my plant over and it is now leaning because the stem is half broken.I secured it to a stake and it is standing straight up again. Should I have done this? If not what can I do, if anything? I hate to give up on this plant because it had started to bear fruit. It is a husky red tomato plant. |
