Dipladenia gift for balcony-help!?

Posted by Jody_Brookhaven_Farm z5MA (My Page) on

My husband bought me a large "Dipladenia" for our east facing porch on the Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. It is a covered and screened porch.

will it do all right here? Any instructions/suggestions for healthy growth? Do I feed it? Watering often, or no?

Thank you . . . I'm NEW to balcony life, having just left 80 acres of farmland!!

It will do ok. However it is an annual in RI so you will have to bring it in for the winter if you want to keep it. Treat it like a Mandevilla. Lots of sun, water letting the soild dry somewhat between watering. It will be beautiful. What color is yours? I have a white one, and a pink Mandevilla.

Thanks,
Vickie

Appreciate any info you can give me on this plant.
