That's so nice!! I wish I could be there, but not only do we live way too far away, we're having our engagment party that night! So, I'll be having people on my second floor patio, looking at my little porch garden as well! I hope your shin dig is a smashing success!!!! (No rain, no rain, no rain)

Well it is a small core group here.. It's not as festive an occasion as yours.. I hope for your sake..
Congratulations.. is your to be a gardener with you.. it sure helps to share a love of the growing.. or it becomes something you're doing to stay away... [from their prespective...]

Gosh - sorry I didn't get back over to GW until now... Too much going on that took me away.

I appreciate the invite! I am "house-sitting" this weekend as my sister and her DH are off to Montreal to attend a Jazz Festival, so I will be stopping by there over there this weekend to water and whatnot since she put in alot of new perennials and shrubs this year (plus I have 10 tomato plants over there too...lol).

I will look forward to your synopsis of how it went. It certainly is turning out to be a gorgeous day for it!! :-D

Yes.. Jenny it was a lovely day... amaising ammount of sun... it was a small core group.. under a dozen.. and too much to eat.. never cut the watermellon.. and no takers on my Mojitos.. mostly a herbal tea bunch.. had the moonflowers blooming.. the angel strumpets.. with a few early blooms.. one plumeria blessed us with their flowers.. and dozens of passion flowers.. lots of homegrown tomatoes and a few rasberries were found..
lots of gardening stories.. successes outnumbered failures.. but both were a learning experience.. everyone cleared out about sunset.. and now just piles of food and drink .. but it was a lovely day.. early in the year for a real blast of flower.. as so many of the new plants started from seed are yet to mature.. these are the most fun..as most aren't really sold as plants or seeds and I've not seen them anywhere... but it was a great.. and others promised to hoast gatherings.. so in that it was a success.. few non addicts appreciate someone going overboard with their passion... so to get affermation and have others show joy with ones work made it wery worthwhile.. keep up your good work there

You know, Gordon, my party was similar. I had a small turnout, not that I invited a load of people, but it was smaller than I was lead to believe it would be. We had far too much food, although they all drank my Sweet Tart cocktails. Getting the affirmations, and strokes about how lovely my "garden" is was a very lovely thing. We felt alot of love the entire evening.

Oh, and to answer your previous question, no, my future husband is NOT a gardener, but he strongly supports my hobby. He'll haul dirt up the stairs for me. He see's how much I get out of it, and he is happy to see me enjoying it so much. Not to mention that he get's a kick out of the few veggies and herbs I bring in off the porch.
