I'm going to try a cherry tree

I loooove cherry blossoms. I bought some seeds and am going to give growing a tree on my balcony a shot. I figure if I have it in a large pot it's going to naturally limit itself in size, right? Besides, it would take years and years for it to get overwhelmingly big, and hopefully at some point I'll wind up in a house with a yard I can plant it in.

Anyone else ever tried doing this? Do you have any advice to offer?

Here's the info on the specific type of cherry tree I'm growing:

I can't see why this won't work--lots of people keep blueberries and lemons in pots. Why not use a dwarf cultivar--you should be able to keep it indefinitely? (Just Google "dwarf cherry tree" to find out what's available.)
