Green Onions

Out of curiousity I planted a couple of green onion shoots from the bunch I bought at the grocery store. They have actually taken root and are growing (has been a month now). My question is do they propagate themselves (by budding etc) or will they forever remain as two individual plants? Thanks.

RE: Green Onions

I may be wrong but I think that if you leave them in the soil, the actual bulb will get bigger and bigger and will then act like any other bulb and produce baby bulblettes attached to the mother bulb that can be separated out for new plants (plus I believe they flower and seed as well).

Jenny, thanks for your advise on this and the hibiscus. It has helped this novice tremendously.
