Newbie & aquarium water for outdoor plants

Last week I decided I needed to transform my junkie balcony into a Garden of Eden paradise. I dutifully cleaned off the balcony, salvaged the dessicated soil and cheerfully and naively planted seeds; kale, carrots, pansies, fennel, rutabaga.. Does anyone have any other better ideas for seeds at this late date for a blackthumb gardener with a lot of bad plant karma? I see far more suggestions for vegetables than for anything else, are there any Just For Pretty things I could start from seed at this point?
and
I have quite a few planted aquariums, aquatic plants I am not afraid of, can I use their water to water the outdoor plants? and can I work the trimmings and snippets of aquatic plants into the soil of the outdoor plants? and do I need to worry about the aquarium plants fertilizer on the land plants? or messing with recomended fertilizer doses for them? I use things like potassium sulfate, potassium magnesium sulfate, potassium nitrate and Plantex CSM+B. they test out between 5 ppm and 20-30 ppm depending on the additive and the tank. I have no idea if this is quantities that will even matter to land plants or not.
Thanks for any time and help.

RE: Newbie & aquarium water for outdoor plants

I use my water garden water change water on my plants (where I have 2 Comets and 2 Shibunkins in there) - particularly the muck/detrius, which is essentially nitrates. If you have potassium stuff in the water, that should be okay for the plants, particulary since it's rare to find a high-potassium (the "K" in the "N-P-K" designation) source by itself other than the oft-recommend seaweed, etc.
