I had germinated some Morning Glory seeds which were supposed to be Heavenly Blue, but this morning I had my first bloom (Yippee!) and it turned out to be Grandpa Ott's! A stunning purple flower with a rose pink star inside. However, even before it was 10 in the morning the beauty closed and it was one of those cloudy mornings. RE: Stumped!!!

Yeah - I have 2nd generation seedlings of "Grandpa Ott's" all over almost every container I have. They have been blooming full force over the past couple weeks and have crawled over everything. And I'll confirm that mine are closed by about 11am, although some will stay open if it is cool and overcast:

I have a few 2nd generation seedling vines from "Scarlet O'Hara" here and there (visible in the picture above) but the vast majority out there are "Grandpa Otts". That one is a prolific and strong MG! At least the hummers peck at it. None of my "Heavenly Blue" from the past reseeded.
