 o
Choice of Balconies To Overwinter Pots

I live in Boston, on the third floor of a three decker.

I have just potted up a bunch of supposedly hardy bulbs (ipheion, hyacinth, allium, lavender moutain lily), and have to decide which balcony to pack them close together on to wait it out until Spring.

The west-facing one is unroofed, and gets more snow, more of the Boston seaside winds (fairly bitter and constant), but also more sun and rain. It will be more subject to thaw and freeze, but will get plenty of water.

The east-facing one is roofed, and in the northeast corner of the house, which means less snow and rain, sun all morning, shelter up against the house under a roof, but direct and unprotected exposure to Noreasters.

Am I overthinking this? Should I just put them all together on the front deck, bubble wrap 'em together, and forget about them?
