How to overwinter columbine, foxglove?

Posted by elbereth (My Page) on

I started columbine and foxglove seedlings this year and now I don't know what I should do to overwinter them. Should I just leave them in the ground like other perennials, or do they need any special treatment? Thanks,

elbereth

Just leave them in the ground. Columbine are tough as nails and will be just fine. I've discovered it isn't unusual to lose a few foxglove between year one and two especially if you've had a really wet spring. Hopefully you've planted lots and won't miss a couple.
