Garden for in-law

| My mother in-law has a balcony that I would like to decorate for her. She has an air conditioner which seems to kill everything we put out there. It's mostly shade aswell. Any one have ideas on how do do a garden with these road blocks? |

| There are lots of shade plants out there - the big problem is the air conditioner. Could you possibly make some sort of wind block to channel the air in a certain direction to keep it away from the plants? |
