| My darling possums!It's been to long!All is well here in N.H.A tad nippy,Though!Although I've scaled down quite a bit ,It won't be long before you enablers,have your way with me!The balcony holds my favorite fall grass(purple fountain)ornamental cabbage(loaded with plump cabbage worms,I can't kill them,I love to eat cabbage, too!)Mums were lovely ,but now ready for the heap.And one rosemary,they say light frost toughens them.I'll be bringing in soon.Glad to see Jen is up and at em'.So happy to be back!-D |

| Definite Frost here.Everything is cleaned up outside.Found a wonderful ivy topiary and a rosemary that has been pruned to resemble a conifer.I've repotted it and the roots were brown and sodden,very pot bound.I've increased the drainage significantly.I haven't had much luck overwintering rosemary inside, any tips?It is good to be back,I've missed all of you so very much.-D |

| Gosh - my sister always loved Rosemary and would buy one every year and it would eventually die every year. It seems to me to be one of those plants like asparaghus fern or Boston fern - either you can grow them and they're lush and full with no problem or you can't, and they die a crispy death in no time. LOL They seem to be a plant that likes it dry at its feet but I expect still needs humidity around the leaves. Maybe sit it in a pebble tray with water in a location where it's warm and mist when you can? I'm wondering too if it is something that also does better in a clay pot than plastic. |

| Thanks Jen,I've found the prostrate type to be easier to grow .You do tread a fine line on the watering.Too much and they crisp, too little and they crisp.The upright I just bought looks horrid ,the other is a prostrate I rescued from a produce dept .It was hydroponically grown and destined for someones kitchen .I potted it up and put it on the deck where the rascal has spent the season.Just recently coming in.They do like it humid and cool for the winter.They hate dry heat indoors.-D |
