An open message for those who have Hortiplex journals

Hi y'all, new user name, old user here, I can't sign in under my "real" virtual name, lol. I just thought you all would like a "heads up" about the fact that your pictures in Hortiplex have NO protections put on them at all. They can be stolen to use in an Ebay auction, for a web site, printed out and entered in contests, for that matter. Contrary to what GW says in their statement. My friend printed out one of my pictures yesterday without any kind of mark on it at all. The best part, though, is when some sleazeball is using it on Ebay without writing and asking permission, even. Speaking of which, you may wish to check out

on Ebay. This person is not only a thief but is rude and vulgar as well. I know he's using one of my pictures and I have a VERY strong feeling that he's stealing from others as well.

Just thought you should know that the assuarance of copyright means NOTHING here, just like everything else they've told us.

It doesn't really seem like its the site's responsibility to watermark your pictures. Some do, to prevent situations that you've brought up (plus its good pr if a picture gets leaked) but they're by no means required to.

As to the ebay guy... complain to ebay. If you can prove you own the copyright to the picture and haven't granted it to anyone else they could probably pull the plug on him. If nothing else you'll probably get the guy to remove your pics from his auctions.

From the FAQ
" Neither ownership or copyright to the User Provided Content is granted to the GardenWeb Network under these new policies."

They only want continued rights to the material. They can neither grant nor deny copyright to material. Thats yours to protect. Start watermarking your pictures you post if you're concerned with others using it.

Copy rigth your material and sue him, thats the best you can do, cost you though.
