all i know about it is that it needs a lot of lite but no direct sunlight, keep potting compost moderately moist, spray regularly but not directly on the flowers. it is only 12 weeks old so no flowering yet but i want to know as much as possable about it.

I would respectfully disagree with your choice of light and care. From the photo I would say your growth is very unhealthy. Internodes between leaves are much too large.

Keeping a soil moderately moist is a recipe for disaster. I would read up on basic bonsai care on the FAQ page here.

Looks like some kind of privet. I would encourage you to read up on bonsai and look at a lot of photos of trees you really like.

I'm not sure how much time I would invest in this material. I would probably put it in the ground for a few years if it were a temperate plant and let a main trunk develop and chop off all the growth you have now.

I see a lot of new to bonsai people invest a lot of time in less than adequate material like yours and after a number of years of work and training they have a less than adequate bonsai.

Just my opinion though.

wow so you really think my plant is sick? that sucks big time! any tips on how to get it healthy again? i would take your advice on the whole planting it in the yard but my husband is in the army and we live in germany on the 3rd floor so there is no chance that is going to happen! and i got the care info from the little care card that came with the bondsai. i have been doing a little bit of reading but i still have lots to go:)

Your plant needs sun. The growth on the plant looks spindly. It should be more compact.

If the plant is a privet, it's not really a houseplant.

so i did some looking around online and my bonsai looks most like a Chinese Elm Bonsai....google it and tell me what you think.

It's not an elm. Elms have alternating leaves, your plant has opposing. Like a privet.
