Here's a close-up of the chopped place where I shortened the smaller of the two trees to make a better looking single tree. Look just above the rafia for the spot. The new "leader" on that chopped tree has been left to grow outwards and the scar is healing nicely. My hope is that it will eventually look quite natural.
