Is there any way to remove posts since this one is just taking up space. Will gladly take it down

The Fukien tea tree looks like it is happy in that pot, but you could put it into a bigger pot if you wanted to give it some more room. Especially if it has been in that pot for two years now, you might want to pull it out and take a look at the roots to make sure it is not root bound. It may be a good time for a root trim soon. I would wait until spring to to any root pruning or repotting at all though. Gives you plenty of time to locate a nice new pot!

Thanks for your reply. On my computer it does not show up that you did unless I open the post. I checked the roots but it looks OK but they are coming to the top of the soil.As this is my first Bonsai that has ever lived I would hate to kill it. And is there a common name for the evergreen one.? I love these little plants and some day would like to do more with them.

If the roots are coming to the top, I would say definitely get it into a bigger pot. Make sure the roots that come to the top are covered up with bonsai sil so that they don't dry out until you repot. The other tree looks like what we call here in Northern Michigan a "Cedar" but as for the actual species of the tree, I am no expert. Maybe someone with more knowledge can respond....you might want to repost the picture into a new thread and title it ID HELP PLEASE .

Thanks. I will get some proper soil and get the roots covered till I transplant. My fukien flowers quite often and some stay to become little red berries.

That is a happy tree then IMO...it looks good too. Good luck getting an ID on the other tree.

judging by the texture and pattern of the foliage on the conifer, I would guess Chamaecyparis obtusa(?),
commonly called Hinoki cypress, or Hinoki false cypress. Next time you're at a nursery or garden center,
look to see if they have Chamaecyparis labeled in pots, and then compare the foliage to yours.

I rescued a pomegranite sp? tree at a nursery today and just wondered how difficult they are to grow. It's kind of scruffy and spindly and had been sort of forgotten. They asked where found it. Got it for next to nothing. Looks a bit better after trimming and a bit of watering. I'm looking at it as a challenge. Will it take a lot of fussing with.? It's only about 10" high. TIA for nay help
