Okay so I have this interesting ficus, a commercial bonzai chop I received as a gift back in late summer. A bit of pruning revealed an interesting trunk. Its a healthy little tree that I think has potential.

The only drawback is the Huge Roots, above ground roots, that dwarf the little trunk. Eventually I'd like to remove these entirely, and create a new more appropriate root system for the size of the tree.

Any suggestions on methods would be greatly appreciated.
