New Chinese elm

Hi,

I received a nice chinese elm bonsai as a gift. I did tons of research and learned that it isn't really an indoor tree and should be kept outside. I also read that very rarely they can survive indoors but not to count on it. This is fine as I have a balcony that get's good morning sun.

I got it 2 weeks ago and I was planning on putting out this week but I noticed there was tons of new growth. It seems relatively happy at the moment with only a few old leaves yellowing and falling.

How should I proceed?

Keep it inside and see how it does? I have grow lights to suplement light

Put it outside with the new growth?

Put it outside and clip the new growth?

Thanks
