I'd be a bit concerned about the lack of porosity in the pot vs ceramic - one reason we always say to not glaze the insides of pots. And I might end up shading the pot itself if in full sun in southern climates at midday, or even on a bright sill depending where you live because overheating the rootball is probably not a good idea anytime.

so it is better to use a ceramic pot? No fear of over heating I live in England but I'll probably use an alternative now anyway considering the porous element of the whole thing . Thank you for your advice I'll continue to search for a ceramic alternative .

that IS an interesting container. can you post a pic of your tree? just curious what it looks like.

Sadly I can't show you what it would have looked like in the container because I haven't got it yet, and probably won't considering the advice . Here's a picture of my tree anyway in the pot it came in a year ago, not the best picture as I had to use the flash. It would have been visually very interesting I'm sure to have placed it in that container :)

that's nice & it would definitely look better in a new home. I have a couple of those & I just love the bizarre aerial roots. good luck with a pot.
