Greetings! Iam not a regular on this forum but since your post has been here for some time with no response, I thought the least I could do would be to welcome you to the forum. I hope that you are enjoying your gardening hobby with your light set up. I took a look and see that you have the basics to carry your plants through the cold winter season. I too have just a basic light set up which has limitations but has served me well for many years with overwintering tropicals and seed starting etc. There is much knowledge to be gained from the reading on the forum and I hope that you will take advantage of that to help equip yourself with the information necessary to make you successful. I have a similar set up but with no lights, just a south facing window. So far it's working.

I am in Pittsburgh. I keep my deciduous and conifers outside in a cold frame that I built. They do much better there and they get their proper dormancy period. During dormancy light/water is not as important although you do not want to deprive them of the same just as they are getting out of it. From The picture I cannot tell if any of them are indoor plants. Otherwise I strongly suggest keep them outside and protect them from drying winter winds.

Your plant stand and lights pretty good though. That is almost how I started caring for my few indoor plants. Eventually, I had shelves with more lights and now I winter them under metal halide lamps. They are much more efficient, especially with a lot of plants. In the summer they all go outside.

Welcome! I am new to this website as well and also somewhat new to bonsai. I started a year or two ago. Because of my living situation i am restricted to only growing plants indoors. I have a room with a south facing window and i also have set up some florescent lights on a table.

I have mostly ficus and adenium obesum, I just got some mini jades, and I have a few random house plants. i have both bought and grown from seeds, the adenium and ficus, with somewhat success.
