| Gday every one,
I was just down my local nursery when I fell in love with a Pinus Pinea. Problem is, its about two foot tall above its pot. Checked the posts about Pinea, Depression, bloody tap root. : ( Any idea how long the tap root would be & how do I go about reducing it so as not to kill my new buddy. I dont have a problem with using chinese fluted style pots, but there is a limit to them (if the tap root is 1 foot long, etc). I havent bought it yet, because if Im just going to kill it someone else can take it home. Thank You : ) Ron |

| Ron, You won't know what the roots are like until you re-pot it. Something else to consider though, most pines are reluctant to bud back on older wood. So if there are no low branches on that two foot trunk you may have some difficulty developing a good bonsai from this plant. Norm |

| Norm, The trunk is about 2 inches thick. The first branch is about three inches above the soil, the trunk is all Gnarly looking. Having gone back to look again ( show the wife ) I now know that the pot its in is only 8 inches suare & approx 9 inches deep. Ron : ) |
