| It's not technically a bonsai but I want to grow it as small as one and maybe in a bonsai pot later on. It's 17 inch tall from the soil to the highest point.
How do I prune the grape vine into a bonsai size tree ? If I cut it at the red line, will it regrow the branches ? There are no buds below the branches. Thanks,

| If the old growth ones they sell are any indicator, you can cut it there without issue. |

| Yes, new buds should appear at various places along the trunk. Josh |

| I agree a chop should raise any issues, one word to the wise though you might want to let it grow wild for a few years to gain some trunk caliper and then chop once the trunk girth is sufficient to what you would want wen the tree is 'finished'. |
