| My sister gave me a bonsai juniper for xmas and up until now its been totally fine. Problem is...I forgot to water it and its very very dry. It looks like white crystals have formed along some of the branches and the main stem. It's bizarre and I've never seen anything like it on any of my other plants. Would the crystals be from the tap water perhaps?
The juniper's green leaves have turned a very pale green and are hard, but not brittle. When I touch them they don't fall off. Does anyone know what's going on?? Thanks for the help! |

| Where are you keeping it, including temperature, light and humidity? How often do you water, and how do you do it? |

| Junipers need to be out side and do not water them much at all if they are not growing. Junipers can not live in a house, they are outside only. You need to answer lucys questions for us to get the full picture. Im going to guess that the plant might not make it. |

| Hi, theoretically they need to be out, but depending on where she lives, and other factors, it might not be the best idea right now for that tree to be out right now. |

| The turning to pale green is certainly not a good sign. Junipers can sometimes keep their color even after they die, so if you're already seeing the color fade, I don't have a good feeling about this. From your profile I see you live in Canada. Depending on where, it would indeed be quite a shock to put this outside now if it isn't already, but it should be in at least a cool environment over the winter. Especially in it's current state, it won't need much water at all for a while. |
