Overwintering juniper bonsai

Hi Guys!
Just joined you.
Received a juniper bonsai for Valentines day. First bonsai ever.
I've been reading that junipers should be allowed to go dormant during the winter months. This one came from a heated Garden center, so it obviously hasn't.
What should I do now?
I live in Southern Ontario. Tonite the temp will be 7 degrees F.

Do you have an unheated outbuilding you could winterize it in? Toss some snow on the pot occasionally.
