Prunus mume 'Roseglow' in bloom!

Last summer I was ata big wholesale nursery taking cuttings of conifers for my nursery, and I saw a beautifully shaped tree, with wonderful bark. It turned out to be a Japanese Apricot tree. I had not seen them up close before. I bought some cuttings on the spot, and had great success rooting them.

I grow mostly dwarf conifers, which take several YEARS to get big enough to see what they will look like.

Anyway, I had about a 75% success rate with the cuttings. I transplated them this fall into 3 inch containers and figured I would move them into 5 inch in the summer, perhaps see a bloom or 2 next year.

These are early bloomers, from Dec-March. Right now I have a bunch of these in full bloom! The blooms are all up and down the stalks almost to ground level! Fragrant too!

I'm going to have a lot of fun with these!
