Does anybody know a retailer that sells these japanese seedling pots?

RE: seedling pots

It looks like a seedling pot used to wholesale or retail seedlings in, not what you would really want to grow a seedling on in. Depending on your living/growing conditions the best place to begin growing on a seedling is in the ground; at least for the first 5 or more years. If this isn't possible I'd suggest either oversized (shallow) training boxes or commercial bulb pans. This will allow more vigerous growth and help in the ultimate goal of having a shallow but well developed root system.

Just go here: http://www.novoselenterprises.com/products/square.asp

You can grow your seedlings in pots for the first few years. In that time work to get a radial nebari and a healthy root system. After you've got that worked out, then you can worry about growing the trunk. Then the branches.
