Yes, but it has to live outdoors full time - will die inside if it doesn't have 4 seasons, certainly long cold winters.

Though many ornamental cherry trees have very large leaves, not nornally suited to bonsai unless you can get then to reduce.
Maybe try a Black Cherry instead or a flowering Apricot(Prunus mume) if you can find one!
