Help with Bonsai

Hello..

I believe most here grow true Bonsais: Elm, Maple trees.

I need assistance preparing two Ficus and one Begonia potted in 4" plastic, growing containers, as Bonsais.

Hope someone can help.

Ficus are F. Bamboo Leaf Weeping, and F. Weeping Fig. The Begonia is called, Begonia Bonsai, lol. I'm assuming the tag means my Begonia can be grown Bonsai-shaped.

To start, do I cut all roots and place in a bonsai container or will a small pot do?
I need step by step instructions. Preparing to shaping.

I'd appreciate help, suggestions, etc.

Thanks much, Toni

There's way too much that can be said, and frankly someone would have to basically write their own book to walk you through everything. If you are new to the hobby and just looking to start with some beginner basics I would recommend visiting your local library and renting as many Bonsai Books as you can. They should have a t least a few there.

You could also look a few post down in the "Book recommendation" thread for some good books you can buy for resources. Good luck.
