Dave

Try: Wholesale nursery supply, large landscape companies, companies that construct athletic fields, golf course greens-keeper, baseball-soccer-football stadium grounds-keeper.

I had mine special-ordered. It didn't cost any extra. Just look up one of your better nurseries and see what they can do for you. Good luck

Story: I own a glass company & have a cabinet maker as one of my customers. During a conversation, he mentioned he had had some fun building ball diamonds & football fields for schools in mid-MI. I asked if he used Turface MVP, & he said, "I have a whole pallet I don't know what to do with". I said I'd take it off his hands. He delivered it (it was only about 10 bags) & charged me $50 US. I shared my good fortune with other club members, but still have enough to get me through this & next year.

That's quite a bit of luck, Al. That would be a lifetime's worth of turface, for me, at least.

Shultz Soil Conditioner, which is pretty much the same as Turface, should be showing up at Wall-Mart soon. Wallyworld won't regularly carry anything that's seasonal and not generally a 'hot" item for the rest of the year. I usually grab a bag when it shows up.

The list I have posted below, I found on another Bonsai Forum. I use Turface, made by Profile. If you check out their website, you can call the 800 number and they can tell you where you can locate the nearest supplier in your area.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I may have found a decent local source in southeastern MA; Decrane Agricultural supply in Rochester. 40# bag of Turface MVP for less then 10 bucks...cheaper with larger quantities. I'm hopefully going down there today. Thanks again,

Dave

I get it in the form of Schultz Aquatic Plant Soil - from Walmart or Home Depot.

It sounds like you've found a cheaper alternative from the Ag Supply house, though...

Yes, Walmart usually has aquatic plant soil this time of year.

johndeerlandscapes.com has a branch locator. I found one in Venice FL aka Lesco which does sell Turface

Here is a link that might be useful: Store Locator Link
