| How long does it take for an American Beech to come out of dormancy? I have one, and the buds haven't even started swelling yet! It's been warm for a couple weeks now and I would think it's buds would have at least swelled. I scratched it's bark about a week ago and it seemed green. Please help! Is it dead, alive, or on the brink?

| They open quite late. Mine are in the same state yours are (even if its warmer there), so don't necessarily expect anything for at least a month or more. |
