Hedge Maple

My hedge maple has been in a 5" pot for about 6 or 7 years. It is starting to leaf. Is it too late to re pot and root prune? Should I wait until next year?---Herman

RE: Hedge Maple

Depends on how the root condition is (if its root bound or not) as well as how vigorous its growing. If both seem to be fine than there's no need to repot. If you really think it needs it though and it is leafing out I would wait until around June, or once the leaves have 'harden'.
