Wood bowl Bonsai pot

I spent about 6 months. striping, soaking, air drying, and soaking, and back and fourth. On a hard wood bowl. I have drilled large drain holes in the bottom. and several small ones also. I have put several Coats of urethain on the bowl. now i would like to use it to house a large rock with two ficus on top. I pan on adding extra rocks along the bottom(covering the drain hole's) underneath the large rock. Will the bowl hold up,and does the urethain pose a threat to the Ficus?
