Okay, this is my first post, so I really have no idea of how to do this. I apologize for any typos I may make in advance.

To start bonsai, I have read as much as I can about the subject. I have about 14 books and have read about 6, so I'm almost done. I don't have much gardening knowledge, and no artistic talent, so I'm hoping that bonsai can further my development into the two.

I have also bought that mini-bonsai kit that you may have seen at borders or Barnes & Noble. Three of the seeds germinated and I have three little jack pine seedlings. As I've read, this kit isn't very reliable, but I have read about people who have a tree that is alive and well.

I live in Florida, the Sunshine State, so the temperatures sometimes go up to 100 F in the summer.

Any suggestions on good places that I could get a good plant to start with, or what would work? Because right now I'm considering a juniper or a jade plant.
